HOMICIDE UNIT INVESTIGATING GOSHEN SHOOTING DEATH

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, March 3, 2020, Officers of the Goshen Police Department were dispatched to the 600 Block of 9th Street in Goshen, regarding the sound of gunshots and a possible victim. Officers arrived to the area and were unable to locate a scene or a victim. Shortly after this call, a second notification was received from Goshen General Hospital that a victim of a shooting had presented at the hospital. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Jordan L. Garcia (26) of Goshen, was the individual at Goshen General Hospital and that he had succumbed to death from an apparent gunshot wound.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit assumed the investigation and is currently conducting interviews and further investigation. At this time, no further details will be released.
