FATHER/SON TEAM CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE FELONIES FOR NEW PARIS HOME

Formal charges
were filed Tuesday against two men arising from a home invasion robbery that
occurred in New Paris the evening of Monday, November 4, 2013. One of the two victims involved was severely
injured after being battered with a tire iron by one of the intruders. The intruders forced the victims to hand over
property during the home invasion. JEFFREY
HILL (43), and his son JEFFERY HUNT (25), both from Winona Lake, Indiana, have
been charged with Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Class A felony,
Burglary Resulting in Bodily Injury, a Class A felony, Criminal Confinement
with a Deadly Weapon, a Class B felony, and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, a
Class B felony. In addition, due to his
criminal history, JEFFREY HILL will also be charged as being a HABITUAL
CRIMINAL OFFENDER, which could result in an additional sanction on top of any
sentence he may receive in the matter.
JEFFREY HILL is
scheduled to have his Initial Hearing on Thursday, November 21, 2013, in the
Elkhart Circuit Court at which time he will be advised of his charges, rights,
potential penalties, and future court dates for his case. Each Class A felony is punishable by up to
fifty (50) years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
JEFFREY
HILL?s bond has been set at $2,000,000. JEFFERY
HUNT's bond will be set upon a finding of probable cause for the alleged
charges by the Judge of the Elkhart County Circuit Court.
