CINDY GOODWIN IN CUSTODY FOR MURDER OF JOHNNY MULLINS

On April 2, 2018, Elkhart Police responded to 1810 Visscher Drive, Elkhart, IN, in regards to a report of a possible shooting. Upon their arrival, Officers of the Elkhart Police Department discovered a deceased body in the woods behind the apartment building and immediately notified the Elkhart County Homicide Unit. The deceased was later identified as Johnny Mullins, 50, of Elkhart. A forensic autopsy was performed which determined Mullins manner of death to be a Homicide as a result of a gunshot wound.


As the investigation progressed, the Homicide Unit quickly documented numerous witnesses in the community who were very helpful in identifying a potential suspect. On April 4, 2018, Investigators arrested one Cindy Kay Goodwin, 50, of Visscher Drive, Elkhart, for the murder of Johnny Mullins. A judicial review of the facts and circumstances of the arrest will occur on Friday, April 6, 2018, at which time future court dates will be set and a bond considered. It is expected that formal charges will be filed on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in the Elkhart Circuit Court.


As this is an on-going investigation, and additional arrests could potentially be made, no further details will be released at this time.
