AMBER PASZTOR PLEADS GUILTY BUT MENTALLY ILL TO TWO COUNTS OF MURDER IN THE DEATHS OF HER TWO CHILDREN

Media Contact: Vicki Elaine Becker (574) 296-1888

On June 1, 2017, Elkhart Circuit Court Judge Christofeno found Amber Susan Pasztor competent to stand trial in the deaths of her two children on September 26, 2016. She then pled Guilty but Mentally Ill to Count I and Count II of Murder and agreed to a sentence of 65 years for each count totaling 130 years.

In addition to accepting Pasztor’s plea, the Judge granted several other motions including one from the Goshen News to withdraw their previous motion to release records. After Prosecutor Vicki Elaine Becker objected to releasing all records, the Judge granted a motion to release all records except those deemed confidential by Indiana State law.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 29, 2017.
