Announcement Date:
2012-05-02

Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney Curtis T. Hill, Jr. presented a donation check to Don Phillips, President of Bashor Children's Home for their Teen Court Program.  Teen Court is a diversionary program which allows juveniles to receive consequences for their criminal actions but not go through the formal juvenile court system.  Referrals are received from Elkhart County Juvenile Probation.  Participants in the hearings are teenage volunteers and a local attorney who serves as the judge. This program helps teens play an active role in holding peers accountable.  More information about teen court can be found at www.bashor.org.
