Nancy Rodes of Fairfield High School was the first place winner of the "What Lies Behind the Picket Fence" Art Contest sponsored by the Elkhart County Family Violence Council. The exhibit took place at Spacious Heart Yoga during GoshenÂs First Friday Event. Second place was awarded to a quilt submitted by the Living Without Abuse Support Group. The third place entry was a drawing submitted anonymously by a rape survivor. The community chose Goshen College student Rachel MastÂs pottery sculpture for the community award. $250 was raised by the exhibit which will be used to fund programs for children who witness violence in their homes.
