ELKHART COUNTY HOMICIDE UNIT INVESTIGATING BODY FOUND NEAR ELKHART GENERAL HOSPITAL

In late December of 2023, it was reported that William D. Hensley (43), of Elkhart, was missing. Due to some of the circumstances reported, the Elkhart County Homicide Unit started an investigation, engaging in numerous interviews, searches, and other investigative efforts
On February 20, 2024, the Elkhart County Homicide Unit located the body of Mr. Hensley near the area of Elkhart General Hospital and Bridge Street.
A forensic autopsy conducted at the Homer Stryker School of Medicine, located at the University of Western Michigan, Kalamazoo, Michigan, confirmed the identity of William Hensley and further investigated his cause of death. The results of that autopsy are still pending. This case is considered to be an active and ongoing investigation; therefore, no additional details will be released at this time.
